A hearty soup chocked full of healthy goodness; smoked sausage, lentils, broccoli, and carrots in a beefy broth.
There’s a chill in the air, Fall has officially begun, football has retuned so that means…soup season! This Sausage Lentil Soup is one of my favorite cold weather dishes. And for good reason, it’s savory and full of flavor but at the same time very healthy so second helpings are guilt-free and practically a must.

This soup is so easy to put together and BONUS only one pot to clean. Love that! And I get to use my new Lodge enameled cast iron dutch oven.
About the only real work involved is chopping some onion (already taken care of if you have some in your freezer) and peeling and slicing a couple of carrots.
Sometimes I cheat and use baby carrots to save a couple of steps. The smoked sausage is already cooked, so just slice it up quick, and toss in a bag of frozen broccoli florets.
Sausage and Lentil Soup goes great with warm bread. Try my quick and easy Apple Ale Beer Bread. It’s a quick and easy, 3 ingredient bread that smells heavenly as it bakes.
