Nothing says “Summer” like BBQ Pulled Pork. Sweet and smoky sauce with onion, garlic, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.
4poundsboneless pork butt
1teaspoon garlic powder
2teaspoon seasoned salt
1teaspoon ground black pepper
2cupsbottled BBQ sauce
1/4-1/2teaspoonred pepper flakes(optional)
Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. Add pork, fat side up. Pour chicken broth in. Mix together onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, seasoned salt, and pepper. Sprinkle evenly over pork. Cook on high for 8 hours.
Remove lid; shred pork. Add BBQ sauce, red pepper flakes, and liquid smoke; mix well to combine.
Replace lid and cook additional 1 hour.
Substitute 2-3 tablespoons of your favorite rub instead of the seasonings.
For thicker sauce, spoon off some of the liquid before adding the last three ingredients.
