Cheesy Sage Sausage Balls
Not your basic sausage balls. This twist on the classic appetizers includes 2 kinds of cheese, sage, onion, and garlic. Enjoy them now or freeze and reheat later.

    Ingredients
    • 1pound bulk sage pork sausage(such as Jimmy Dean)
    • 2cups baking mix(such as Bisquick)
    • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/2cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1teaspoon onion powder
    • 1teaspoon seasoned salt
    • 1/2teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2cup milk
    Instructions
    1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Cut uncooked sausage into 8-10 chunks and add to a large mixing bowl.
    3. Thoroughly mix together the rest of the ingredients using your hands or the dough hook on a stand mixer.
    4. Using a cookie scoop, drop sausage balls onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
    5. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 4-5 minutes before serving.
    6. Serve warm by themselves or with your favorite dipping sauce. Or cool and freeze for later.
    Recipe Notes

    Make-ahead tips:

    • Bake as directed; cover and freeze. When completely frozen, store in zip-top freezer bags for up to a month. To reheat, place 8-10  frozen balls on microwave safe plate and microwave for 1-1 1/2 minutes.
    • Bake as directed; cover and freeze. When completely frozen, store in zip-top freezer bags for up to 1 month. To reheat, preheat oven to 350°. Place frozen balls on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake 10-12 minutes or until heated through.
    • Cover and refrigerate uncooked balls for up to 24 hours. Bake as directed.
    • Freeze uncooked balls and store in zip-top freezer bags up to 1 month. To reheat, preheat oven to 350°. Place frozen balls on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 25-30 minutes or until brown.
