Pumpkin pie spice is the pixie dust of the fall season. This homemade blend is so quick and easy to mix up and I’m betting you have all of the ingredients already. Why buy it when it’s so easy to make. And you’ll save money. Always a bonus.
Fall baking season is upon us! I love fall. The summer heat and humidity are fading away to cooler temps. It’s football season, the air is cool and crisp, leaves crunch underfoot, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
So, in preparation for some of the wonderful upcoming goodies that the season imparts, I’m throwing together some of my Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice blend. You can DIY so many great spice and herb blends and this one is truly one of the quickest and easiest.
This spice mix is fantastic in muffins, cakes, pancakes, waffles, and homemade coffee creamers for lattes. Or stir it into frostings or whipped cream. So. Many. Possibilities. Oh! And what about pumpkin pie? That’s just crazy enough to work!
I like to mix up small batches, but you can easily double or triple it. It stores for up to 2 years in an airtight container, but I think you’ll use it up way before then.
Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice blend would be a nice touch in a gift basket of homemade treats, too.
